BL 27 Acupuncture Point

Bladder 27, or Urinary Bladder 27, Abbreviated as BL 27 or UB 27, Transliterated Xiaochangshu in Chinese, Small Intestine Transporter in English.

BL 27 Acupuncture Point Location:

In the region of the sacrum, 1.5 cun lateral to the middle sacral crest, at the level of the 1st posterior sacral foramen.

BL 27 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Pain in the lumbosacral region and knees
  • Lower abdominal distention and pain, dysuria
  • Spermatorrhea, leukorrhea

BL 27 Acupuncture Point Benefits:

Promotes the functions of the Small Intestine, resolves Dampness and Damp-Heat, benefits urination.

Back-Shu point of the Small Intestine

Notes: 

Back-Shu points are corresponding points on the back where the Qi of the respective Zang-Fu organ is infused. If the Five Zang organs are diseased, abnormal reactions appear on the Back-Shu points. Back-Shu points have a direct therapeutic effect on the diseases of the Five Zang organs.
