BL 40 Acupuncture Point

Bladder 40, or Urinary Bladder 40, Abbreviated as BL 40 or UB 40, Transliterated Weizhong in Chinese, Middle of the Crease in English.

BL 40 Acupuncture Point Location:

Midpoint of the transverse crease of the popliteal fossa, between the tendons muscle biceps femoris and muscle semitendinosus.

BL 40 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Lumbar pain, spasms and weakness of the lower extremities
  • Erysipelas, rash, general pruritus, furuncle, carbuncle on the back
  • Abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Enuresis, dysuria

BL 40 Acupuncture Point Benefits:
