BL 60 Acupuncture Point

Bladder 60, or Urinary Bladder 60, Abbreviated as BL 60 or UB 60, Transliterated Kunlun in Chinese, Kunlun Mountains in English.

BL 60 Acupuncture Point Location:

On the foot, behind the external malleolus, in the depression between the tip of the external malleolus and tendo calcaneus.

BL 60 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Acute lumbar pain, swelling and pain of the heel
  • Difficult labor
  • Headache, neck stiffness, dizziness, epistaxis
  • Infantile convulsion

BL 60 is an important point to help ease difficult labor. Jing-River points are where the qi of the meridian begins to flow more heavily. They are known to treat cough and asthma due to pathogenic cold or heat.
