Conception Vessel 5, also known as Ren 5, Abbreviated as CV 5, Transliterated Shimen in Chinese, Stone Gate in English.

CV 5 Acupuncture Point Location:

On the anterior median line of the lower abdomen, 2 cun below the umbilicus.

CV 5 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Dysuria, edema
  • Hernia, abdominal pain, diarrhea
  • Amenorrhea, morbid leukorrhea, metrorrhagia

CV 5 Acupuncture Point Benefits:

Opens and regulates the water passages, promotes the function of the San Jiao, regulates Qi.

Notes: 

Front-Mu points can be used to treat diseases of the affected Zang-Fu organ, and those of Yang meridians and collaterals. They treat diseases of Six Fu-organs and diseases of yang meridians. An adverse reaction when a Front-Mu point is pressed can help make a diagnosis.
