LU 8 Acupuncture Point

Lung 8, Abbreviated as LU 8, Transliterated Jingqu in Chinese, Channel Ditch in English.

LU 8 Acupuncture Point Location:

On the radial palmar aspect of the forearm, in the depression between the styloid process of the radius and the radial artery, 1 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

LU 8 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Cough, asthma, chest pain, sore throat
  • Wrist pain

LU 8 Acupuncture Point Benefits:

Descends Lung Qi and stops wheezing and cough.

Classification: 

Jing-River point of the Lung Meridian.

Notes: 

Jing-River points are where the qi of the meridian begins to flow more heavily. They are known to treat cough and asthma due to pathogenic cold or heat.
