TE 3 Acupuncture Point

San Jiao 3, Triple Burner 3, or Triple Warmer 3, Abbreviated as TE 3 or TB 3, or SJ 3, Transliterated Zhongzhu in Chinese, Central Islet in English.

TE 3 Acupuncture Point Location:

On the dorsum of the hand, in the depression between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones, proximal to the 4th metacarpophalangeal joint.

TE 3 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Headache, redness of the eye
  • Tinnitus, deafness
  • Sore throat
  • Pain in the scapular region, pain of the leg, fingers unable to extend

TE 3 Acupuncture Point Benefits:

Clears Heat, dispels Wind, benefits the ears, eyes and head, activates the meridian, alleviates pain.

Shu-Stream point of the San Jiao Meridian

Notes: 

Shu-Stream points are where the qi starts to pour down the meridian. They are known to alleviate heaviness and pain in the joints.
